When you wake up, your breakfast is already waiting for you - but how do you take these oats on a flavour trip to another world?
Before you take your taste buds on a trip to special worlds of taste you’ll probably need to just make sure you know how to make overnight oats. The recipe for Overnight Oats involves soaking Quaker Rolled Oats overnight in just over double the amount of milk - any milk works for this, even oat milk (you could also make Overnight Oats with yogurt). Then in the morning all you have to do is retrieve them from the fridge.
Now you have the basic recipe you can start piling on the flavours but not necessarily the calories. A breakfast with oats (40g) only contains 150kcal so to keep things healthy you could add semi-skimmed milk or low-fat yogurt. A great example of this would be our Blueberry and Honey Overnight Oats recipe. The addition of fruit will give your oats flavour and texture. Bananas bring a softness while certain types of apples provide a refreshing crunch that can be heard on the other side of the kitchen.
Adding milk to oats is not the most complicated thing in the world, so why not make some extra? Overnight oats can be kept in the fridge for up to 3 days. Making more than enough means you’ll have more time to experiment with different flavour combinations. We have over 22 Overnight Oats recipes suggestions here. Once you start, you’ll realise the combinations are endless.
How do you top off the perfect breakfast of overnight oats?
